Jason Mraz: I Won’t Give Up (Official Music Video)

Since its Stateside release earlier this year, Jason Mraz’s ‘I Won’t Give Up’ has already peaked at #8 on the Billboard Top 100 and that’s with little to no promotion, aside from an official lyrics video that I posted in early January.

As I said back then, the new single is a rousing emotional behemoth of a guitar ballad, with the ‘I’m Yours’ singer opting to retain the sound of his last album, ‘We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things’.

And that makes sense based on the fact that it’s the LP that launched him in to the stratosphere, even if it does mean consigning his more entertaining upbeat tracks to the history vaults.

Hopefully the release of the official music video for ‘I Won’t Give Up’ will cause a resurgence of interest in America but, should that not be the case, it still has a chance to make a dent over here.

At first, I doubted the track’s ability to replicate the success of ‘I’m Yours’, which holds the record for longest run in the Top 75 for a non-Top 10 single. However it’s since been scheduled for a UK release date of 26 March, with Mraz’s fourth studio album ‘Love Is A Four Letter Word’ following on 17 April.
