Amy MacDonald: Slow It Down (Official Music Video)

Amy MacDonald has unveiled the video for her new single ‘Slow It Down’. 

The track is the first to be lifted off the Scottish singer songwriter’s forthcoming third studio album ‘Life In A Beautiful Light’, which is scheduled for release on 11 June. 

MacDonald first rose to prominence in 2007, off the back of her debut ‘This Is The Life’ which spawned two Top 30 singles, topped the UK album chart and went on to sell 3 million copies worldwide.

Her follow up, ‘A Curious Thing’, charted at #4 in 2010, but failed to match its predecessor’s success, with the single releases all failing to break the UK Top 40. It did though enjoy greater success in Europe.

‘Slow It Down’ is a soft rock guitar track, which bounces along quite merrily thanks to catchy folk verses and a jaunty chorus.  The only thing that threatens to throw it off the rails is the repetitive use of the word ‘down’, which seems over produced in context with the acoustic feel of the rest of the track. 

The video was filmed in Spain and has Amy MacDonald stranded in the middle of the desert.

‘Slow It Down’ was released on iTunes on 20 April, so you can either download it now or wait until the album comes out next month.
