Charlotte Church: The Rise (New Music)

Welsh singer Charlotte Church has unveiled a new song in the shape of ‘The Rise’, a rockier affair than her previous. 

The track is also available to download for FREE from the singer’s official website, in exchange for you popping in some email details. A similar ploy may have come in handy when trying to get rid of excess stock of her last album ‘Back To Scratch’, which peaked at #23 in 2010 before tumbling out of the charts. 

‘The Rise’ is actually an interesting change in direction for the singer, as she channels her inner Evanescence against a backdrop of ‘rising’ percussion. Get it? The image of Church on the site also shows her lips stitched together suggesting she’s keeping her mouth shut this time round. Is a more personal and intimate sound coming? 

Not that I think she’ll ever beat ‘Moodswings (To Come At Me Like That)’, for which the video is below.
