Sigur Rós: Fjogur Píanó (Official Music Video)

Icelandik band Sigur Rós continue to mesmerise with their current spate of music videos, releasing today this new entry for their track ‘Fjogur Píanó’. 

The clip, which features a naked Shia LaBeouf no less, is the third that has stemmed from the the Valtari Mystery Project and is the follow up to the recently-released ‘Varúo’ which was directed by frontman Jónsi’s own sister.

The project saw the band give the same budget to several different film makers, asking them to come up with a concept for songs from their most recent album ‘Valtari’ which charted at #8 on the UK Top 40 in May. 

Well, Alma Har’el managed to snare a Hollywood star so I guess she’s not done too badly. The eight and a half minute video sees the Transformers star and Denna Thomsen portray a couple who are on a journey of sexual and emotional discovery.

The track which is the album closer translates as ‘Four Pianos’ and is therefore unsurprisingly reliant on a beautifully cinematic piano recital for the most part. As the couple descend in to their darker moments of passion towards the end of the film, the music intensifies, yet never becomes uncontrolled.

An entrancing musical accompaniment for a beautiful track.
