New Music Video: Aiden Grimshaw - Curtain Call

Aiden Grimshaw has unveiled the official music video for the second single to be lifted from his debut album ‘Misty Eye’.

‘Curtain Call’ is another solid offering from the ex-X Factor contestant, and the follow up to ‘Is This Love’ which, despite being very good indeed, only managed to peak at #35 on the UK chart earlier this month.

Produced by Jarrad Rogers (Lana Del Ray, Tinchy Stryder) and featuring vocals from Labrinth’s sister Sherelle, ‘Curtain Call’ is yet another immediately listenable track and easily as good as ‘Is This Love’; impressive considering the  youngster set a pretty high benchmark with his debut.

I wasn’t initially convinced that relying on someone else to belt out the chorus was the best choice this early in his career. Afterall, he’s not incapable of pulling it off himself.

However Sherelle’s uplifting vocal is the perfect contrast to Aiden’s more downbeat delivery and shifts the whole track up a gear. It’s a refreshingly contemporary pop song that deserves to do well. 

‘Curtain Call’ will be released on 12 August, with ‘Misty Eye’ following two weeks later.
