Pet Shop Boys: Winner (Official Lyric Video)

The Pet Shop Boys have unveiled their new single ‘Winner’ online.

The track serves as the first official cut to be taken from their eleventh studio album ‘Elysium’ and was premiered on Ken Bruce’s Radio 2 show this morning.

It’s a beautifully melodic and uplifting electronic song that should really benefit from a perfectly-timed release that coincides with the ramp up to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

A track by a UK act who have been around for thirty years and still have the ability to enrapture listeners would make a much more appropriate theme than Muse’s official offering.

‘Winner’ will be released today but fans can also choose to wait until 6 August when it’ll be released on CD with three bonus tracks, and as two digital bundles featuring extra tracks and remixes. ‘Elysium’ will follow on 18 September.
