New Music Video: No Doubt - Settle Down
Yesterday No Doubt returned to the airwaves for the first time since their 2004 Greatest Hits retrospective, which scored them their last UK Top 20 hit, a cover of Talk Talk’s ‘It’s My Life’.
'Settle Down' will serve as the first cut from 'Push and Shove’, the reunited band’s first studio album since 2001’s ‘Rock Steady’, and now they have premiered the official music video.
The carnival themed clip was directed by long time colaborator Sophie Muller who previously shot the visual accompaniments for ‘Don’t Speak’ and ‘Simple Kind Of Life’. It sees the band reuniting after their decade long hiatus and performing on giant trucks.
"We collaborated completely," Muller told Rolling Stone. "I’ve become friends with them. When you have a working relationship with a band, it’s a very comfortable and lovely process."
'Settle Down' takes it back to No Doubt's early music-making roots, effortlessly fusing their early ska-pop vibe with catchy hooks and one brilliant chorus, man handled perfectly by lead singer Gwen Stefani.
The track is available to download in the States already, with the new album following on 24 September.
