New Music Video: Labrinth - Treatment 

If you thought you had  Labrinth sussed, check out the music video for his new single ‘Treatment’.

The track is the fifth to be lifted from the British electro-hop star’s debut album ‘Electronic Earth’, following the smash hits ‘Let The Sun Shine’, ‘Earthquake’, ‘Last Time’ and ‘Express Yourself’ and since I first wrote about it a month ago, it has become one of the most played new songs on my iPod this year. 

As I said back then, it’s quite brilliant that, five tracks in to his album campaign, he is still managing to churn out such brilliant quality single releases. 

With each one, he challenges what you think you know about him as an artist, managing to effortlessly weave from classic to old skool hip-hop, dipping his toe in a heavy dose of electropop en route. 

‘Treatment’ is the closest that the album has to a classic Syco power ballad, but Labrinth takes what could easily be a middle of the road boyband weepie and applies all of his current production sensibilities to come up with something that is probably the most pop of all his releases to date. And it still sounds very cool.
