GRIZZLY BEAR UNVEIL OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR SINGLE ‘YET AGAIN’
American indie band Grizzly Bear are on the up. The success of their critically acclaimed 2009 album ‘Veckatimest’ introduced the New Yorkers to a whole host of new fans, and their recently released fourth full lengther ‘Shields’ gave them the highest UK chart position of their career to date when it peaked at #17.
Expectations for the new material were always going to be set high so it’s a relief to hear that Grizzly Bear’s quality control remains firmly intact. In fact, ‘Yet Again’ is a brilliant example of the band’s seemingly effortless ability to fuse psychedelia with more traditional indie folk and rock sounds and the result is quite splendid.
But what would a great single be without a great video? Thankfully, director Emily Kai Bock has produced a clip that is more than worthy of accompanying the song. Her 5 minute mini-film serves up a mesmerising and memorable visual that centres around the character arc of a young figure skater. Not only is it brilliantly directed and lit, it fits perfectly with the track, reflecting both its most ethereal moments and its more aggressive breakdowns.
If you’ve not yet invested some time into this band, maybe now is the time to catch up!
